June.

Summer is not traditionaly for black and white. I were black and white when I want to feel modern or mature, one of those. The black dress with the horizontal cutouts showing white skin amplifies this contrasting color scheme. June strikes the metalic edge of summer like lightning and we all stand shocked that she is here again. I hope to spend more time on the blog this summer, as my brother has left his nice camera in my care. Looking forward to reading books, finding new clothes and loving many people this June.

Polka gal.

I don't care how popular or over-used Polka Dots are, I still think they are great and add an instant old-school touch to any look. Apparently "teal" is coming in hot for spring but I don't especially like "teal" of instead of wearing this "teal" business you'll find me wearing breezy sailor polka dots, tan and polka dotted knee highs socks and very sparkly, very opulent oxfords(Which I sparkled myself with craft glue, a paint brush and gobs of gaudy glitter, gah!) Spring is in the air and that generally goes hand in hand with budding flowers and budding romance, so pull up your lacy socks, bike down the glittering avenue and twirl, with face to cloud drenched sky, around in your polka dot dress.

Comet Trails.

Today I listened to my father rattle off star infused facts about the mysterious frontier of outer space. He spoke of pink clouded nebula, asteroid belts dimly revolving and Neptune's orbit. In the golden hour of five o clock we walked out back and stretched our hands towards to sky to capture the white streaks of jets and reaffirm our belief in Gods cosmic hands. There is really nothing like the deep blue sky to set off your mind, nothing like the pale lonely moon to make you want to dream. I haven't posted in a long time. I'm bringing you a very sad post, in the sense that it's not that cool in the fashion department. This little top I do enjoy for its vague and distant quality. Semi-Victorian with that Peter pan collar and the floral pattern is pretty innocent. I paired this sweet top with more edgy black jeans(Literally a staple, well ok they are not a small steel office supply used to keep paper together but you know what I mean) and these rocking black boots. I am also featuring another pair of "sandy" boots that really make any outfit pop, tre wilderness! This crochet blue and white striped top was recently thrifted and needless to say, "I'm positively stoked on it, its a classic."

Fresh market.

This past Saturday me and my sister went downtown for the first ''Fresh Market" of the fall season. The market was crowded with dogs and the smell of spices and bread. It was all eye candy. After we tired of the crowds we walked down a couple blocks to this new french style coffee shop and bakery. You can see in the picture how cute it was with its black and white tiled floor, french photography and large glass windows by the counter. To conclude our fun outing we went to a vintage second hand cream of the crop thrift store called "Revolve." Although I did not buy anything I was inspired by the clothes and small glass figurines in the store.

Feel the Illinoise!

I always Listen to Sufjan's Illiniose album in October. I guess it reminds me of other crisp falls day when my brothers were home and in high school dreaming of dead poets and their band. This outside uses warm leaf like tones. The shirt, which is a classic sixties bold floral design, and mustard cardigan were thrifted last month. The boots are target and the Shirt is Forever 21. mustard is one of my all time favourite fall colors and it is a major plus being in the perfect form a light cardigan!. I literally haven't worn one of these since last March! Hosting a fall bonfire at my house tonight, smores and cider permissible.

Fall Is For Feathers.

A jewelry post on specifically feather inspired pieces. I adore these steel feather earrings. The necklace is actually leaves I believe but it echoes the subtle graces of a feather. I had a lot of fun photographing these with my iPhone(My real camera is long broken, boo!) I'm going to add a segment on "Sunday Best" so be on the lookout.

We are the October People.

fall is for pumpkins and cider and mustard cardigans. I'm so excited to wear sweaters and scarves and take my dog on a walk with my boyfriend.
