As I mentioned in the previous post, black is a constant and practically perfect colour. It's classy, demure, mysterious, timeless and nothing less than becoming. I paired a simple black high waisted skirt with a vintage navy polka-dot blouse. The large ruffles in the front add personality in an otherwise simple getup. I see myself wearing this on a rainy day sitting in a bookshop searching for my second cousins birthday book.

Peacocks, Pandas and Paint(on the face)
One day final clock down untill the Grecian Urns peacock themed release party. The films have been shot, the "footy" edited, the banjos strummed, the feathers plucked, the dreams dreamed, love loved and flags flown. This is something I did to amuse myself during a hot and muggy summer day. I painted my face with watercolours( I stole them from my sister who was finishing up a fine redfox painting) I don't suggest using watercolours because they itch but I do suggest painting your face with safe and saucy face paints. The panda is just here cause frankly, its really cute and reminds me of a dear friend. Plus, black and white is always in style, write that one down!

Starman/Retro Hightops?
I'm having this great dead serious conversation about retro Nike hightops right now with this boy that's the ultimate expert, I'm learning a whole lot. This dress is absolutely fabulous but something you should only wear to some form off Halloween party/movie premiere. Its so eighties club goddess and reminds me of outer space glamour! Its a really quirky piece with a truck load of character, one of my closets precious gems. The urns release party is approaching quickly. yellow jumpers are the plan for apparel but it seems yellow is not an easy to come by clothing colour, so the hunt continues.

Mis-Red
There is a new form of secondhand thrifting going around. Basically little shops like misred(downtown st. Pete fl) glean all the prime "hipster"pieces from regular thrift stores and needlessly over price them to sell to the artistic youth that abide in most downtowns. Oddly enough, the system works beautifully, shop owners hunt for hip apparel and pay at a low price, hipsters buy the cream of the crop thrift apparel for a wildly inflated price. on the theme of red, the pantaloons are quite a statement, I found them at one of the above stores for the shocking price of fiver bucks. I like em, yeah there unique.

Pappa Bear and the boxing match...
Its Fathers day and us children contrived the idea of casting our own father in the "Mohamed Ali"(Grecian urns song, for those of you who aren't up to date) Music video. Upon hearing our plans, my father produced an onslaught of objections and giggles but eventually, with minor pressuring, agreed! Just picture this man in tight satin striped shorts, red oversized boxing gloves and body oil, making the peaks and valleys of his muscles glisten. Um, I don't have a whole spread today just one photograph. I think this look is very innocent, the vintage scarf tied into a bow is a wonderful trick to give off a masculine allusion. The cutoffs keep it modern and boyish while the blazer keeps it fairly timeless.

Luetinant Macready's Funny Face!
Ray Bans were created to shield the eyes after John Macready returned from a hot air balloon adventure. These glasses are an iconic emblem of modern fashion. Audrey Hepburn sports a pair in her classic film, "Breakfast at Tiffany's." While on the subject of Audrey Hepburn, Let me bring to your attention the impact of her little black getup in "Funny Face." There is nothing as classic or striking as a tailored black trouser with the "poet" Turtleneck. Makes you want to settle down and listen to some smooth jazz. In my outfit I tried to incorporate these two stylistic features without taking the looks to literally. Never copy, just simply take little bits from many influences to create your own signature look.

Muted Romance.
I wanted to do I piece on the simplicity of nude/muted colors. The muted peach baggy shirt preforms two actions for your look.
1. It makes your own skin look more colourfull and healthy.
2. By not wearing a flashy color, the nude amplifies your natural features like the eyes, hair and mouth. Romantic, I think so!
One of my favourite actresses exactly signifies the purity of this colour.

"One Grecian Urn.."
I'm now going to inform you of two very classy, very novel items.
1. The Grecian Urns, A merry blend of folk, rock and pop, that colorfully illustrates gulf coast living...(t.b.t) I urge you brethren to get on your computers and check these kids out at myspace.com/thegrecianurns. They are approaching the release of their first full length album entitled Love dream( with a name like that you can only wonder)
2.Shaundra= A musical saint. She is a true trailblazer when it comes to offbeat fashion and plays a mean cello riff when necessary. The darling socks and hand embroidered bag belong to this chick.
This City Always sleeps...
I'm really very sorry its been so long since I've posted. Summer has been getting busy(I know seems a little oxymoron-ish). Applying for the dual enrollment program at my community college is time consuming. So, the other I went downtown to bask in the glass lit building, to draw on the sidewalks and to soak in the artistry of my dear city. The outfit worn is eclectic, to say the least. I got the native American soaked shirt from my local thrift shoppe, its a very interesting piece, very bold and kinda old. I cinched the waist with my handy-dandy navy belt and topped it off with purple ankle socks and a charming little leather and navy bag(adds a touch of class to an otherwise, bohemian mixture) The day was hot and the sea was green. My sister and I sat on green chipped park bench and sighed, we sighed because we both knew we were falling in love with the bay, the bridges, the skyscrapers, the parks and the antique air all over again.

PEACHES AND CREAM..
I think this is just lovely. She looks very elegant and ladylike in the monochromatic pallet. The neck scarf and florals give her an old world charm, while competing patterns add interest. Today we suffered the loss of our dear male brothers and friends, they left on vacation to GA. Luckily, Cameron, volunteered to be the featured fashionista in my upcoming article on vintage tees..Hooray!

ocean-oxford charm...
Classy like a black brushed Greyhound!
When going with a blazer dont overwork the look, keep it simple with navy and pale yellow stripes. Imagine seeing a lady of about 33 strolling around in a green plaid skirt, hot fushia blazer and yellow rain boots, you would think she was quite the circus convict. These items, though gorgeuos on their own, lose there impact when jumbled together. One striking peice with three "boring" peices will keep your look punching! I adore the way the navy of the bag and blazer set of the yellow(looks lovely with that canoe)

Greaser throwback hair...
THE MOD SQAUD
These are my mothers cowboots from the early 70's, Oh nostalgia!
The vitality of the colour green serves as more than a fashion statement but a portal to wellbeing.....Hair is essential to ones personal style, it is an automatic accessory. My Brother and I showcase new wave takes on classic looks. He represents the modern greaser and I, with my black and shaggy fringe, The 1960's Mod-Squad. Green of all shades will contrasts gloriously with your sun kissed skin.On lazy afternoons throw on a turquoise sweatshirt(I cut out the neck to give it that 80's throwback look) and a pair of cutoffs. Pair it with cowboy boots to give it that casual cowgirl boost! On the subject of cow boots, they go with virtually everything and should be worn on any and all occasions(if you are afraid of giving off the super hipster vibe just relax and wear them regardless). Tie any look together with a pairing of elements, for example, I paired the leather belt with the leather boots to just complete the outfit, apply it sparingly like furniture polish(it will still shine) Your closet will be happy to accept all your new green pieces, just ask her!
